If I had to pick something wrong with the story, I would say that maybe they should have spiced up the excitement a little bit more- there were a couple of times where I was bored- but other than that, nothing's wrong. I got stumped sometimes, but it wasn't so hard as to be discouraging. But then again, less HOS means more adventure. They also didn't have an indication of when they could be used, which is what I wanted to see. The storyline is similar to The Nutcracker game in the same series. They are drawn with such finesse and beautiful detail, with a vast array colours, which really showed off the Christmasy theme. Seriously, I've underestimated how much plot depth a fantasy story can have. But they were very fun to find. Be the first to write a forum post about this game! I was not a big fan of the little adventure stories that you had to move through, I did not like the plain paper backdrop, I prefer the ones that have little colorful stages that you move things onto. I tend to play for the Holiday theme hog and not so much for story. It wasn't necessary to the game, but it added that little bit of enjoyment. I City of Fools no issue. I simply could not figure out how to move them Now, I'm not the biggest fan of the cute and cuddly, but it was toned to just the right level to make my heart melt without being sickly sweet. There MiniChess by Kasparov one puzzle I took forever to get Each segment had me wanting more, which is what a backstory should set out to do. Perfect blend of 2D animation. But then again, less HOS means more adventure. This story definitely stands alone in its own right. We were impressed by many of the puzzles included in Tin Soldier. Charlie and Nina were childhood sweethearts who were planning their wedding when Charlie was called into war, Luxor Mahjong Nina vowed to wait for him as long as it took. There was no indication of when they could be used. If you're looking for a game with beautiful Christmas-themed graphics of snow and Christmas trees, this is your game. It was fantastic and made me feel good, which is what I look for in games. The graphics were extremely bright, high-spirited and splendidly colored — perfect theme for the holiday season. This had an interesting story line - I like the use of "helpers" and all the variety of mini games. When the pictures are completed, they become animated screensavers, and there are 15 Christmas packages throughout the game that contain miniature cat collectibles. I admit to some frustration around knowing what to do and where to go, but the hint is forthcoming on that score. There was nothing notably innovative or unique in Tin Soldier, but it did manage to entertain us from the beginning to the end. Overall, near perfect gameplay, which was almost impossible to fault. A cameo person makes it awesome, and the little mouse family is gorgeous. The story was engaging, the puzzles were creative. Now having said that The graphics are really good and some of the cut scenes are very cool. To complicate this dire situation, his sister Nina and her fiance Charlie have become toy victims too! It was innovative, and most of all, it was the most FUN I've had in a long time! Some of the inventory items you find are complex items as indicated by a snowflake, which means some type of interaction is required before using that item such as opening the package or combining the item with another inventory item. I think developers should aim to do this with all helpers. Charlie was severely wounded and lost his leg as a result of his injury, his love for Nina was the only thing that gave him the will to fight for his life! Helper- The helper was great fun to use.

I like that very much. Quick restarting hints is a plus. Overall, though, good bonus chapters. But, as I said, the story wasn't all about cuteness. This game is perfect to put me in the Holiday spirits. The backstory was exciting and added that little something to stop this from being an all out cutesy, which definitely would not have sat well with me. The story was engaging, the puzzles were creative. It was interactive, but still showed indicators on advanced. This is perfect; I wish more games would do this, as it made me motivated to complete them. It's a classic hog just don't expect much difficulty or challenge. You will be charmed all throughout the game by its spectacular colors, dominant Christmas cheers and whimsical characters all along with an exquisitely crafted gameplay. The mini games aren't difficult but certainly fun such as guiding soldier Charlie through a re enactment scene from the war, you have Charlie shoo away a crow, the crow drops the key into a haystack, Charlie pushes the cow out of the way to search the haystack to find the key that opens a chest containing an axe to chop down the door of a burning house and so forth. I liked how you could interact with it. This included putting Charlie in a little cart before using him, or giving him a rope to climb down on.

Every year I wait and wait for Elephant Games to put out their Christmas game - and this one doesn't disappoint. Other than that, the visuals on this game is lovely.

  2. The storyline is similar to The Nutcracker game in the same series. This, combined with additional features and overall smoothness of the game's flow, made the adventure component extremely fun. More advanced players might feel that Tin Soldier is a bit short, as we completed the game in just under 4 hours. Discuss with other players!
