Howlville: The Dark Past

Discover the secret of Rachel's past in Howlville: The Dark Past! Many years ago an artifact was found in a mine near the small town of Howlville. The government asked Dr. Joseph and a group of scientists to examine it. Something went wrong and the experiments were halted and classified. The town closed off. Since then nobody knows what happened to Dr. Joseph. Fifteen years later his daughter Rachel is on the verge of solving the mystery, but somebody is doing everything possible to keep her from succeeding. Help find Rachel's father and save the world from the looming catastrophe!

I would not recommend this game. Also, this game kept going forward Enjoy it!! I played easy mode because the normal mode was more like a hard mode which is also an option. Took me hours which seemed like a good value for the money, didn't even get through the gate in the trial hour, but maybe I'm just slow. This is one I'll play more than once. This game is different from the usual Hidden Object games in that during the mini-games there are other mini-games hidden inside them. Mostly HOs and puzzels. Took me hours which seemed like a good value for the money, didn't even get through the gate in the trial hour, but maybe I'm just slow. If you are out of hints, you can wait for the meter to refill. I enjoyed it but I wish other aspects of the game had been more developed. Of course, I did play the easiest option, so that may account for my limited experience. Have never seen hidden object scenes that were so interactive. Place the other eye O in the skull to open it up and collect the Gun P. Just the right amount of looking without being frustrating. I never needed a map because there was no need to revisit a scene. Run your mouse around the room and see what is there that you may need. Even the name is designed around the monster - not the beautiful quality of the crafting. The graphics were clear and all worked ok but I did not appreciate the repeat setup and oddities with the HO scenes and puzzles.

I can't help but feel how much better this game would have been with a normal "bad guy. Your father went missing years ago, and for some reason now you've decided to look for him. Not all things you need to find are in the games either. I feel like the idea just never reached its potential. I really like HO games that are adventurous not just all HOs. The problem I have with this sort is it looks like someone created a fantastic game then someone else said we have to have a monster. The HO's were not terribly easy to find hence long play. There is no need for a map as you can either move to one adjacent location or you can't. I don't mind the occasional stick-the-cheese-in-the-trap-to-catch-the-mouse or use-razor-on-crudely-sewn-pillow-to-find-hidden-gem interactions, but this game has you solving full puzzles in order to get a single useless item. Hint button very helpful, this game made you not want to use hint button. Move the items around to reveal the nine vitamins blue and place them as shown in the screenshot. You can also adjust your options sound, music, and screen size. The graphics looked great, especially in the hidden object scenes, which were nicely constructed. This was also extremely short, so don't expect this one to kill much time for you.

Most scenes had interactive things to do, including puzzles - some of which were good enough to Frogs vs Storks stand alone puzzles! You can also adjust Howlville: The Dark Past options sound, music, and screen size. I liked that there wasn't a lot of hand holding, like most other games.

Overall it was okay for what it was, but I found this one very disappointing for an Alawar game, who usually has some of the best HOGs out there. Pasy a lot of traveling from page to page, which was nice for Howlville: The Dark Past change. It's quite a short game but logically planned, so you progress through it without any searching about The graphics are Dqrk, and the sound track isn't obtrusive. Lots Monkey Money 2 puzzles - most were simple to do. This game does not, and where to use some of the items is not always intuitive. Set the middle knob 2followed by the first knob 1and finish with the last knob 3 to reveal the Poker Chips B. Shake the leaf X and the knot Y to move the second beetle and the plank Z to find the third one. Arrange the arrows, shown in the screenshot, to get points Z.   2. Also, this game kept going forward Move the wood to reveal the red gem C , and clean the dust to reveal the yellow gem D. I can't help but feel how much better this game would have been with a normal "bad guy. I really like HO games that are adventurous not just all HOs.
