Haunted Hotel: Eclipse Collectors Edition

You and your renowned partner James have been called to investigate a strange disturbance at a hotel, but the maid says the guests are all monsters. What’s happened here, and does she really mean that literally? This is a special Collector's Edition release full of exclusive extras you won’t find in the standard version. As a bonus, Collector's Edition purchases count toward three stamps on your Monthly Game Club Punch Card! The Collector’s Edition includes:

And you find yourself in the midst of it trying to solve it somehow. There are collectibles and achievements and other extras. This story seems to be related to what is happening at the hotel. The theme of the game is carried out by having a Vampire Room and a Werewolf Room in the hotel, plus colored elixirs and mysterious magic cards that need some type of magic to dispel them. I was a little confused though why the voiceovers were written and not lip synced, I thought they were past that. The player controlled character is like a Watson to James' Holmes and as usual, James orders you around and you do all the work. Great visuals particularly with the morphing portraits , fun game play, a good storyline, and nice extras. But when I saw that this time EG is the one developing this game, I think I had to give this game a try. Evaluation after playing the demo version - great game as far as I can say now, just played a few minutes and felt right in the middle of the story, curious about what will happen and what will to be done next. It was engaging and well-paced. Easy to move around, although a bit more back and forth than I cared for. I'm only just over half way through and I've been going for 3 hours already so looking like a good long game.

Hints however is the usual "telling instead of showing" which I dislike as a beginner. I must say I especially loved this Collectors Edition for the fact of the replay value. Easy to move around, although a bit more back and forth than I cared for. It is the only reason I buy Collector Editions period. There's no real note book, but you do have a book that logs interesting items throughout the game. The story is a great horror story with all you need from a good hidden object puzzle adventure game. Extras: Bonus gameplay, wallpapers, concept art, music, etc. I'm only just over half way through and I've been going for 3 hours already so looking like a good long game. Great addition to add to my Haunted Hotel Collection! Unless it has 20 desktop backgrounds that you can SAVE and music you can download along with screensavers. But also included in the achievements room with about 16 achievements, 15 collectible portraits who include the vampire, the werewolf and the voodoo king. The plot is not so original, you're investigating monsters which occupying a hotel, thus it is haunted. Hate it when a game is crammed full of them as it distracts from the gameplay.
