Gizmos: Riddle Of The Universe

Help, there's an emergency in Gizmo Land! An unknown device has crashed into Kurt the Mechanic's garage. After sharing the alarming news with his friends, the trio decides to look into the incident. A search of the crash site reveals a coded message from a distant planet. Can you help Kurt shed some light on this mystery?

Music is of a soft steampunk nature, and to my ears is very pleasant. Each game allows for 6 mistakes and each cell you correctly fill will also fill up 4 energy vessels that can be used as hints to fill in several random cells. IF you are an expert on nonogram then you will understand that the developers started out with 10 X 10 grids not 5 X 5 but will go higher as you progress. Although I consider myself reasonably fast at these games, I only managed to get a perfect time once in the first 8 boards. This one is one the better devs in providing this type of game. To achieve gold one has to finish inside a specific time frame as well as have had no misclicks. There are achievements to earn as well, with 6 different categories and 5 games within each category. Again, well executed, achievable and neatly fitting into the overall experience. Also I don't know why they throw in the jigsaw puzzles, but whatever. If the folk that gave Gizmos a bad rating would have done that they would have realized that all of what they were moaning about is actually under their control and that's exactly what makes Gizmos and the 2 further ones in the series so special. Bought this on release day at another site which beats BFG to them by a week or so. First, you will need coffee or tea for this game. The storyline is pretty bad, and so are the graphics to illustrate the storyline. Great Feature!!! Because I never use a game cursor, as I find that distracting, I like the option to turn that off also. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by margot01 from The best nonogram game In my opinion are the Gizmo games the best nonogram games on the market. You receive achievements throughout the game.

They are all solvable by logic only. I bought all three of them. Not so with this game. Wish aII Nono games wound do this. You fill in cells with the left mouse button and cross out cells using the right mouse buttons, every filled cell will be divided with an empty cell. Who knows. It's just fantastic, better than Fantasy Mosaics, better than any of the others. Although I consider myself reasonably fast at these games, I only managed to get a perfect time once in the first 8 boards. You WILL need to put on your logic cap because there's no guess work.. The only problem is that they never are challenging enough at the higher levels. Because of the "no guessing" play provided by this developer, this was an instant buy for me and I highly recommend the Gizmo series if you enjoy nonograms. The challenge level, the autofill option, the jigsaws; everything is good about this games. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by riefer from Gizmo games excellent as always If you love nonogram games, the Gizmo series is the best-implemented one I've ever come across. There are achievements to earn as well, with 6 different categories and 5 games within each category.

I don't think I can put the name of the site here though. These are quite challenging - even for a nonogram addict like me! On some displays the custom game cursor is fine, on Luxor: Quest for the Afterlife it isn't good enough I wished this lesson was learned by the HO developers. Graphics are superb. I really hate to finish a puzzle just to find you have to guess on the last two moves. Alas, as the music can be dimmed or altogether turned off, that's not a problem. And they have some very good options, like turning off the background. I played the demo for 10 minutes and immediately bought it. Best part. So is Fantasy Mosaics, and people still love that game. If you love nonograms, then you gotta have Gizmos! I finished both of the other games with no guessing at all. It's not overwhelming and doesn't take 5 hours reading first, comes with cute little drawn characters and fits the theme.

Autofill - what a marvelous idea and now I don't even ever want to look at a Nonogram that doesn't offer that. This type of scoring system is so nice, it gives a challenge and something to work towards, without messing up the fun and enjoyment. If you are a beginner or hardcore nonogramer this game is going to thrill you, enjoy! The only problem is that they never are challenging enough at the higher levels. With a big sigh I thought: "Wouldn't it be just great to have another Gizmos! I bought all three of them. It is all wrapped for Christmas. This type of scoring system is so nice, it gives a challenge and something to work towards, without messing up the fun and enjoyment. However, the characters in the game get you into the festive mood. I just finish them so I can get the achievement; I think they're skippable. A neat, challenging but achievable scoring system with being able to get standard, silver or gold. There are achievements to earn as well, with 6 different categories and 5 games within each category. Who knows. The challenge level, the autofill option, the jigsaws; everything is good about this games. There is autofill. Every puzzle is completely solved with logic. I like the challenge of completing a puzzle without using a hint or making any mistakes. I will buy everyone they release! I don't think I can put the name of the site here though.

  2. Extra touches like storyline, minigames and achievements make this game really addictive. Each game allows for 6 mistakes and each cell you correctly fill will also fill up 4 energy vessels that can be used as hints to fill in several random cells. Hints available There are 'Rewards' to be earned during play, which are displayed in the Reward Room.

  3. However, the characters in the game get you into the festive mood. You also play for 'no mistakes' and 'no hints'. By the look of the screen shots, you will be playing quite large boards indeed by the end of the game. Four 'Hint Bottles' fill as you play, and when full, can be used if you so desire.

  4. Good challenge without overdoing it with a board up to 30x30 9. Again, well executed, achievable and neatly fitting into the overall experience. And they get hard very, very fast! The first thing any gamer should do with any game, in my humble opinion, is to check out the "options". Graphics are superb.

  5. The last two games ended with 30 x 30 boards. I absolutely love these! The first thing any gamer should do with any game, in my humble opinion, is to check out the "options".

  6. You receive achievements throughout the game. It never makes assumptions - some games, when you have 1 4 4 1, will grey out one of the 4's once you have a row of four finished on the board. With a big sigh I thought: "Wouldn't it be just great to have another Gizmos! The fact that it has a Christmas theme makes it a timely release.

  7. I don't think I can put the name of the site here though. You have to be completely on the ball to avoid any miss clicks in the end games. Extra touches like storyline, minigames and achievements make this game really addictive. The music of the first was the best and I didn't get tired of it. This type of scoring system is so nice, it gives a challenge and something to work towards, without messing up the fun and enjoyment.

  8. But note: widescreen needs to be turned off interestingly that makes the board bigger and the cells square, otherwise they look oblong - at least on my setup , otherwise the system cursor doesn't hit the mark properly. Another reviewer outlined the game so I will just comment on play from my perspective. The fact that it has a Christmas theme makes it a timely release.

  9. Something really new here! Sizing of the game field, which in turn will size the individual intersecting fields. There are setting to allow for full or widescreen, and you can disable the voice encouragements, background and images, mute and you can choose to have the game automatically fill in blank cells for you. Then I can start again and maybe get higher scores!

  10. It it does not provide color and the pictures are fairly nondescript. The only problem is that they never are challenging enough at the higher levels. There is a tutorial, but it can be skipped. Nice interface too.

  11. In the demo hour, game was played with logic and deduction. A nonogram consists of cells that can be filled in or left blank. There are achievements to earn such as no misclicks, no hints used, perfect time, playing for 5 and even 10 hours as well as earning bronze, silver or gold trophies.

  12. I really hate to finish a puzzle just to find you have to guess on the last two moves. On some displays the custom game cursor is fine, on most it isn't good enough I wished this lesson was learned by the HO developers. I don't think I can put the name of the site here though.
